Ali Lassens' Leads Club's Gulf Gate Professional WD Chapter in Florida Means Business

Congratulations to Gulf Gate Professional WD Chapter in Florida. This Chapter of Ali Lassen's Leads Club puts a traditional business-card exchange to shame.

When the Ali Lassen's Leads Club, the largest networking group in the area comprised solely of women, meets each Thursday, members truly take care of business. The amount of business the members drum up for one another is impressive.

The national group is named for its late founder, Ali Lassen, who began the group for small business owners in 1978 in Orange County, Calif. Ali Lassen's Leads Club is now the oldest and largest leads group in the world. The local group was established about five years ago.

Selecting The Best Networking Organization For You

Which is the best networking organization? At Leads Club, we believe it's the one that fits your needs, with people who are as serious about seeking and referring leads as you.

As you begin exercising your Focused Networking "muscles", you'll want to go to more gatherings. You'll become a joiner, a mover and a shaker. Here are some suggestions on selecting a networking organization:

  • Ask those in your network for recommendations.
  • Always think people and personal referrals.
  • Visit a few organizations.
  • Visit the ones you like best two times.
  • Talk with members and find out why they joined. . Ask how long they have been members.
  • Why do they stay members?
  • What's in the organization for them? What will be in it for you?
  • Find out how many in the organization are in your field or a field that's closely related. This reduces the opportunities for personal referrals.
  • Is there a policy, as in Leads Club, that there's only one member from each profession in the organization?
  • Compare fees and what the fees or initiation costs actually do for you.
  • Ask how long the organization has been functioning.
  • Network with members at the meetings and in person (or over the phone) to find out how much business has been generated since they've become members. If the members don't have a figure on the increase you can expect, talk with those in charge.
  • Ask if the members also belong to other organizations. You might find one that better suits your goals.
  • Do you feel comfortable with the methods and members?
  • Will you be proud to say you're a member of the group?
  • Are you ready to commit yourself to at least six months membership and participate by exchanging quality leads with the people in the group?
There's no "right" organization for everyone. Find one that works for and with you to achieve your networking goals.
