Set Clear, Definable Goals Before Networking Functions

Do you find yourself adrift at networking events? There are so many. The typical chamber mixer is more social than the sit down breakfast group meeting. Are you there trying to meet as many people as possible, or trying to collect as many cards as you can before the end of the event?

Before each networking event, you should set your goals for the event. What is it that you want to accomplish at this event? If you are attending the chamber mixer, what would your goal be for that evening? Is it different than the morning SCORE breakfast?
